Out for the season??

What do you get with a bunch of guys playing some pickup ball at the church? Well let me tell you; a fractured maxilla (upper jaw), 3 root canals, and 3 crowns! Oh and not to mention the joy of eating soft foods for 3 weeks! Yup this is what happened to Kane last Thursday. We were lucky enough to have a dentist do an emergency appointment on Friday instead of waiting til Monday! I wish I could say that he is feeling a lot better now since it has been a week today since the incident. However he is still in a lot of pain and taking 8 Loratab pills a day (along with the 3 Penicillin and 3 IBprofun). I wish I knew how to get pictures of my phone because I have the funniest picture of Kane right after the Dentist finished up his 3 hour procedure on him! He looked a little stoned to say the least. Anyways kane is officialy done playing basketball... for this season. And if any of you have any good ideas of what Kane could eat let me know, he is getting tired of mashed potatos, soup, pudding, apple sauce, oatmeal and shakes!

OH MY HECK KELLIE!!!!!! Tell him we are so sad and so sorry for him. I would seriously die if I had to have 1 root canal, but 3??? He's a trooper. Well, he really shouldn't be sick of shakes until he has every flavor! There's lots to choose from! I would eat raspberry sherbet ice cream, cream of wheat with coffee creamer, pasta roni, spaghettio's, broccoli cheese soup on Wednesday nights at The Garden Restaraunt at the Joseph Smith building (but I could eat that every day the rest of my life), and... well... there really are not a lot of options. You should make him a cake though, that would definitely make him feel better! Post a pic! We'll miss you at games!

Yikes!! Sounds like the Fight Club to me.. Those boys need to play a litte bit on the lighter side.

I have always said there is nothing as horrifying as playing church basketball, but pickup ball at the church seems to be taking it to a whole new level! That is awful! I hope he gets feeling better.

As for something to eat, this is why nobody wants to have to eat a soft diet. There really ain't much to choose from.

Ouch!!! When my brother broke his jaw he had to eat soft food for 2 months so he got very creative...pizza in a blender, hamburgers in a blender, sausage and eggs in a blender (those all sound disgusting to me), jamba juice, oatmeal, baby cereal (with lots of sugar it really is good), yogurt, pudding. He lost over 30 lbs. Make sure you put protein powder in everything! Good luck! Hope he gets feeling better soon.

I am so sorry that so much work had to be done. I am sure he is miserable and nothing but time takes care of it. Good luck to both of you and it is good he has a good and cute little wife to take care of him.

About 10 years ago Aaron broke his jaw in 3 places. His mouth was wired closed for about 8 weeks. It was terrible! He had to drink everything and I felt so guilty about eating anything! So sorry Kane... get well soon!
